This kinda has slavery vibes about it. However I think inmates cost us more than workers, so hopefully there wouldn’t be an incentive to incarcerate people to fill a worker shortage.
Are they being used as cheap labour, or being trained in skills that they can use when they get out?

They will be paid a whopping $9 a day for effectively unskilled labour that doesn’t increase their post-release prospects kn any substantive way.
oh that’s bullshit. Bullshit. Even when doing my 600 hours for my Ag/hort in the fuckin’ '90s I was getting fifty a day.
