The content likely doesn’t matter, but I read it helps the baby recognize the parent’s voices (esp the Dad’s, relative to the Mom), and it can also help them get a head start on recognizing the phenomes of your language.
If it’s a recording of someone else it sure as hell won’t. Might have some effect on replay, but won’t be making baby any more familiar with the parents.
