German companies increased investment in China by a third in the first half of 2026 while sharply reducing investment in the United States, according to a study by the German Economic Institute (IW) seen by Reuters on Sunday.

More investment within the EU & countries that aren’t China, Russia, or the US, could also help. We can look at what Kazakhstan does; it tries to not be too dependent on others, while still maintaining some trade abroad.
