9 years ago, I wanted the C-HR but my daughter was too small and could not reach her window in the back seat… today, the C-HR is bigger than the Rav4 back then and the Rav4 today is as big as the Highlander back then
An SUV is essentially a shitty mini van that gets worse fuel efficiency and has less room, but can sort of go off road better, even though 95% of people who get an SUV will never go off road.
Also, like half of what companies call SUVs now are actually just station wagons.

Consumer fashion is hard to gauge, but people like SUVs because Americans are getting fatter and older and it’s easier to get in/out of them over a typical sedan. But American car fashion is irrational, they refused to buy station wagons at one point, then hatchbacks got a negative connotation. It seems anything actually practical is not cool, but only in one country.
Compact SUVs like those discussed in the article are fine. It’s the full size SUVs like the suburban or Yukon that are the problem. The fully electric bZ weighs between 4000-4400lbs, where an ICE Suburban is almost 6000lbs, sits much higher up making it harder to see the ground around you, is 8 inches wider than the bZ (81.1 vs 73.2), taking up more road space/bike lane space.
can we stop with SUVs, they are the worst fucking kind of a car, why the fuck do so many people buy these, they have almost no fucking advantages
