The revolution freed the slaves in Cuba, ended its colonialism by the US, provided free medicine and education for every citizen, reformed land so there were no big landlords any longer, created vast amounts of infrastructure in rural areas that did not have any before this, and much, much more. The ones killed by the revolution were the fascists in the Batista regime. Marxism-Leninism is the ideology of the liberation of the working classes around the world.

Cuba has more doctors per sq. inch than another country in NA. Everybody in Cuba is highly educated despite it being a place where not the smartest people vacation to. Only reason Cuba is not an economic power house is because of the embargo that’s been going on for 50 years.

indeed. the biggest reason socialism fails is because capitalists keep kneecaping it, not because its a flawed system.

The narrative that socialism has always failed is also wrong, too. Cuba is doing far better than they would have for its people had it remained a sugar colony. China is quickly advancing to the top of the world stage. Socialism does work, despite siege, even if it would do better without it.

Their scientists also developed a very potent cure for Alzheimers disease named NeuralCIM.

Not exactly, NeuralCIM does appear to slow Alzheimers progression, only measuring cognitive scores but it is far from a “cure”.

It’s being tested at Phase 2 in Canada, with plans for a large phase 3, this time using brain imaging.

How CIM can make this drug for $2.50 a dose is another question for capitalism, because by the time it gets approved in North America, it will cost thousands.

Ironic that the country under siege by the USA has the one drug the US president needs.

Right now the genocidal blockade is preventing vital cancer-treating medicine from entering Cuba, so while Cuba does have numerous advantages over the US even with its imperialism, right now the people are being starved and cut off of vital necessities.

Ok, but Guevara got kicked out of Cuba because all he wanted was war. He was also a bastard to his own troops.

Not actual history, but believe what you want. You don’t always want military revolutionaries running a country after revolution. See Stalin.

Gay people weren’t murdered. The revolutionary government did continue the former reactionary policy towards gay people and imprisoned them, but this was corrected and overturned through the newly implemented democratic system. Today, Cuba is one of the most LGBTQIA+ countries on the planet thanks to their popular Family Code.

That’s not what the OP claims. And they are not talking about today’s Cuba, so you might as well tell me how ancient Greece viewed it, equally irrelevant.

The OP is wrong, lmao. And modern Cuba has only been a state since 1959, Batista’s regime is living memory for some. Be more serious.

I’ve literally never been wrong about anything at any point in my life… I did just finish blackshirts and reds, thanks for the rec. I’m starting Communism: A History by Richard Pipes next. Then the Soviet Century by Lewin.
