Could be plain old hypermobility. My knees will bend kind of like that if I’m leaning against something and not being particularly careful to make sure I’m standing in a “normal” posture.
There’s not really anything that can be done about hypermobility except avoiding high impact activity (greater risk of injury). Asking a doctor is always a good idea, but I’ve found the lack of treatment options makes doctors hesitant to diagnose it.
Would be hard to tell without a view from the front. Could be anything from hyper mobility, femoral retro version, tibial torsion, or mix of a few of them.
Any medical types willing to explain / speculate what’s causing this posture?

This looks like his knees are angled inwards (genu valgum) rather than hyperextended knees/hypermobility.
There’s another condition when knees bend backwards farther than normal, in some cases it is quite extreme.
I have a lesser similar thing, which is why I’m asking. One leg being more extreme. Foot can point out with knee pointing straight.
Was curious if it means anyrhing I should be careful of.
Should probably just ask a doctor >.>

Bro’s got his entire shaft across the desk
🤣Of course, how could I miss the signs
genetics probably. My feet naturally rotate and touch the ground when I sit. I got it from my grandad who used to call it “duck feet”
i can do 180° with no pain

this is as far as I can go

I got some of the hypermobility genes, but my sister got more. She can do a full split without practicing in years
This thread has really brought unity to Lemmy’s slue foot community.
Same here, but it causes some minor pain / disconfort if I let them hang that way too long. Have to consciously point them up

Thank you for the detailed response
