Having a charging point at home is also a issue. If you live in a apartment, you can request that whoever owns the building installs a charger. If you rent, thats even more difficult to get done. If you own your own house, you’ll have to install one. Or I guess you could use the regular power coming out of the wall, but AFAIK thats quite slow?
We really need to tie car ownership to renting or owning a parking space near a persons primary residence. That would avoid that problem and also prevents people in large cities, who really do not need a car to buy one and have it park on a public road for ages.
Maybe. I’d rather focus on making public transportation and pedestrian infrastructure so good that people don’t even want to drive a car. Luckily I live in such a city, its not perfect of course, but its good enough that I waved good bye to my car last Saturday. I realised that the one or two times per year that I actually need a car, I need it for like a week. I can just rent a car, or borrow from someone, when the need comes. Other than that, I’ll just walk or ride the bus/tram.
Not if you do the math of 8+ year ownership with fuel costs.

Wall power will give you 2kW/hr on 120V AC, 3.5kw/hr on 220V. So you could charge a battery overnight on 220V external wall outlet.
But the reality is EVs are not optimal for apartment renters unless municipalities change the codes.
True. Its an investment of sort.
