I think no one is impressed or remembering because these events don’t seem to have produced any meaningful change. The french get what they ask for every time because they escalate until they do.

Sadly this is just not true. Yes they are able to slow down austerity measures, but beyond that there isnt much meaningful (aka long term progressive/anticapitalist) policy change. The meaningful change is in the people, in their relationships, in their organizing and in popular opinion. Same can be said for the US: '2020 never ended’: how Black Lives Matter organizing taught Minneapolis to handle ICE surge

      This is correct.

It might take years to force changes, and right after, capitalism/political power/… will try to claw those gains back, so the fight is on all the time, just now it’s one of those times that gets headlines.

When we got the 35h workweek, man was it attacked in the media and all over the place for over a decade, actually the right wing still brings it up like someone placed a turd on their birthday cake, but it’s one of those things we fought for, and didn’t let go of. FYI if you work 37.5 or 39h/w, you get “free” days you can take whenever you want, like 11 or 22 a year. Neat huh? That was one fight, we’re on another now, and ten, twenty years from now it will be yet another.
