I don’t know why anyone takes the civil war / secession-obsessed people seriously.

It’s a small, loud minority that thinks it’s a majority because they mainline algorithmically-content all day, every day. That holds true in Canada and here in the US.

They’re a bunch of fucking clowns.

because a small bunch of clowns can sway public opinion their way in the right circumstances.

the algorithm is most folks reality now, they don’t live outside of it.

a civil war is a militarized conflict. It requires entire groups of people grabbing guns or explosives or other arms and being willing to kill someone else for being on the wrong side. If no one in canada was arming up and murdering people for being on a different side then of course not.

It still means 1 in 4 people you see on the street is dangerously misinformed. Or, just as bad, simply does not know what it would actually mean, but still decided to vote on the topic.

Keep in mind this was a non binding vote to have a binding vote on the issue later on. According to the polls the number of people who said they’d vote yes to hold the binding but would vote no in the actual vote if it was held was quite large. Then there’s the fact that we can be certain almost all the seperatists voted since this realistically is the only chance to get what they want and consider that only a third of eligible voters voted. Them only getting 25% under those conditions means their actual support is vanishingly small.

1 in 4 women are sexually abused as a child, usually by a close family member. Coincidence? I dont think so

I don’t see how it could be. There’s no way Alberta could be self sufficient in the global economy.
