The national cattleman’s beef association called for “unrestricted market access” for US beef exports to Australia and an audit of Australia’s animal health and food safety standards.

I don’t get this…take the auto industry Trump tariffs foreign cars, so some automakers setup in USA to manufacture, the rest of the world moves on…USA now makes cars but can only sell them in the USA…not enough demand to sustain the auto makers…Manufacturers start buying each other out in USA…left with 1 or 2 big makers…the rest of world no longer cares and has detached from USA markets in general (or equally tariffs USA goods)…USA sits isolated and falling behind. Now expand this to other industries.

Adobe Haven’t these dickheads been charging Australians more for their products than anyone else for decades?

If you’re going to urge the US to target Australia it should be within the rights of every Australian to just torrent your shit if they want.

I think it’s more aligned these days. But it used to be cheaper to fly to the USA, buy a copy of Adobe creative suite, go to Disneyland for the day and then fly home than it was to buy Creative Suite in Australia. It’s all subscription-based, now.

Among the examples listed was the GST applied to the sale of imported services and digital products to Australian consumers.

Blame the Coalition for this one. Although the fact tech companies are now throwing a tantrum over it makes me less inclined to care.

Someone should make a list of these companies attacking our country.

If these companies hate Australia and our way of life so much, I’ll be glad to never give them another cent.

Lol. The trade deficit is massive on our side, so they are shooting themselves in the foot.

We sure as fuck don’t need American wines. We used to bend over backwards to pay American film companies to film in Australia.

And there’s guides everywhere now on how to de-American your tech.

    Fuck off, you nutjobs.

Cannibalising the economies of Allies, to try slowing down the collapse of the American Empire. The sooner Australia/ns realise we are at war, the sooner we can join a global boycott of everything American.

Never thought of the GST as a tariff. I guess it kind of is, but for Everything including locally made products. USA are not smart enough to make this link though.

Sure! Why only have a trade war with half the world, why alienate half your friends, when you can alienate all your allies by starting trade wars with everyone?

Of course you’ll win, it’s easy! Just watch Cheeto, he’ll make you all rich!
