Hey now I’ve tried my HARDEST to pass as queer-coded. I’ve been KIND, SELFLESS, and have VERY CUTE AMBIGUOUS TATTOOS. But guys are such an ick to me lmao.
Ironically back before “woke” was a thing, my small rural hometown had a big annual ‘drag’ show for charity (read 50-something year old jet ski dealership owners, mayor, etc. in dresses, light makeup, and heavily stuffed brassieres doing show tunes).
I actually did a drag version of ain’t no mountain high enough in high school as Tammi Terrell’s part accompanying the american football captain (I was the real football captain) lol and I did crush the singing and the black dress. And a bully called us the f-slur the following week and we beat his ass 😂
Ultimately though, I think if I transitioned I’d be a doppelganger of Natasha Lyonne, and I don’t need that kind of attention
Yes!!! being nd feels like that a bit - and is why my spouse and I connect - we both just really dig each others vibe and could really take or leave any of the gendered trappings. Also (entirely inadvertently) the majority of friends I’ve made as an adult are lesbian; probably mostly because of my field/politics, but we generally get along well also
