So now we can add “directly capturing a sovereign leader” to the list of crap the US has done. So what do you think will actually be “the straw that broke the camels back” for world leaders to actually do something? Think it’ll be significant or something mundane?

    Canada invade the US

Stopped reading there, LMFAO! Say what you want about leadership, but the US military is still extremely effective, as proved a couple days ago. I don’t recall the last time I’ve ever read a dumber take, ~70k troops invading 1.5 million 😂

It’s not about whose military is better. Canada is right in our backyard with a very wide physical border with the United States. Your mistake is in assuming they are limited to exclusively using their military, who history has shown should not be underestimated.

      Nope!

Consider that most of the world is very pissed at us right now and we pose a threat to literally all of them. Now all that land in Canada leaves a lot of room for foreign military bases to go up very quickly and there is fuck all the US can do about it.

But sure, branding always decides the outcome of conflicts.

        1. Canada invade with their 70k military.

        2. US imposes a blockade with more aircraft carriers than rest of the world combined.

        3. US military proceeds to shred Canada’s, as they outnumber them 20-1. Please recall Canadian troop imports are cut off.

        4. US smirks, as 2/3 Canadians live within 100km of the boarder.

Branding doesn’t decide conventional wars, spending 100x more on blowing tan people up instead of funding hospitals and education does.

Thinking Canada could try or would even contemplate initiating national suicide is clown shit there bud. Reality sadly doesn’t care about wishful thinking.

To paraphrase Lincoln, ‘Shall we expect some transatlantic giant to crush us with a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa with all the treasure of the earth could not take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must be the author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we shall live forever, or die by suicide.’

The Canadian government is working on making a 300,000 civilian army as we speak. Also, since the USA has no more rule of law who’s to say Canada has to follow the Geneva Convention anymore. Turnabout is fair play, no?
