President Donald Trump has said the U.S. will revisit its stance on Greenland in the coming weeks.

Asked if he expected to take action on the territory, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday: “Let’s talk about Venezuela, Russia, Ukraine. We’ll worry about Greenland in about two months. Let’s talk about Greenland in 20 days.”

He added: “We need Greenland from a national security situation. It’s so strategic.”

Obviously he’s saying 160 hours is what he works in 2 months, so that’s 80 hours a month, or 20 hours a week on average. Shit, I didn’t know being the president is a part time job, with those benefits? sign me up!

You are under the mistaken impression that Trump is in charge. His dementia is far worse than just a few years ago, even two years ago. This time around his handlers have figured out how to manipulate him.

Taking Greenland isn’t Trump’s idea. If he wasn’t being fed ideas like this, he’d be plenty happy getting fatter, napping and continuing the grift from the Resolute desk.

The US is going to take Greenland. As global warming rolls on, mineral extraction becomes easier and more profitable, and Arctic sea lanes will open year-round. If you were playing Risk, taking Greenland would be a no-brainer.

It is not a clickbait title. It is an attempt at explaining to normal people what the crazy boomer with nukes is rambling about.

That’s exactly the problem of having to report what a crazy but ridiculously powerful person is saying. If you don’t take him seriously and just report that he’s just rambling incoherently then you’re going to be surprised when he actually uses his immense power. If you present his ramblings as a coherent declaration then you’re going to be discredited when he doesn’t follow through.

There is no easy answer here. I’m leaning towards the side that takes his sayings at face value because he’s too powerful not to.

By the way, it’s way less productive to direct your anger towards the journalists trying to make sense of what the madman is saying.

Also considering he does occasionally follow through on some of his ramblings and it’s quite apparent that the government apparatus will happily follow his orders (even if they shouldn’t), the prudent thing to do is report on them as though he’s serious about it.

Everyone with the capability to do so already understands that he simply regurgitates whatever shit someone manipulated him to say before the interview. That is when he’s coherent enough to make himself understood which frequently isn’t the case anymore. His dementia is already fairly advanced and it is going to accelerate even harder in the future. He’s sleeping standing up during official meetings, for fuck’s sake.

tl;dr: he’s not capable of making much sense anymore. The true power lurks behind him, we all know that.

deadline, definition number three from The American Heritage Dictionary: “A date on or before which something must be completed.”

So I guess twenty days away is the deadline, or date, for talking about Greenland again?

As annoying as headlines can be the tendency of people to intentionally misinterpret them is pretty annoying too.

yep. but people are freaking out like he’s going to invade in two days because of their irrational fear response and their doomerism fantasizing.

As global warming advances, taking Greenland is a no-brainer for the US. All this talk is softening the blow. I’d put a crisp $100 against the US not invading in the next 6-months.
