No one needs any of these sites, I can’t wait for more and more people to realize what a gigantic waste of time they are, full of lies, fluff, grifters, ads, and just generally shit that doesn’t matter and I am just as guilty as anyone else, if not more, wasting so much time online over the years.

It’s really quite sad though, in the mid to late 90s I had such high hopes the internet would bring people together, knowledge would be free, walls would be broken down, etc. As usual, money and greed ruined that quickly. I don’t think I can count the things that money and greed have ruined in my lifetime, it’s just too high. Pathetic.

      knowledge would be free

I don’t know about all free, but information is a lot more accessible than it was in the 1990s, and a lot of it is free or pretty inexpensive.

Used to be that when I wanted more information on something, I went to a library and checked out a reference book. Maybe put that book on request from another library to use its inter-library lending system. Maybe bought the book if I was going to use it repeatedly.

Today, I’m typically just going to hit a search engine unless I need really authoritative, detailed information.

I feel you… if money can be made, it will probably go to shit…
