Aaaaaaand I just got banned from NOT one, NOT two, NOT three, but four Lemmy.ml communities. Is this a sign I have to start studying and reading up on theory?

Also, I know some Lemmy.ml mods is gonna say that “you wouldn’t get banned from these communities had you read your theory!” like they’re teachers demanding students to eat their meat before they can have their pudding (because how can you have your pudding when you don’t eat your meat?)

Now I support the idea of socialism (I’m more of a market socialist), and I’m NOT against the idea of actually existing socialist countries (ie: China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos and the DPRK). That said, I think Lemmy.ml should be more open to different forms of socialism, as well as the Marxist Leninists who DOESN’T have to support Stalin (and his bureaucratic and polarizing practices while General Secretary of the CPSU) to support ML.

I am very bummed that I CAN’T respond in these communities - that said, I can subscribe to different versions of these communities that happened to be in different Lemmy instances (other than Lemmy.ml):

Lemmy support:

Someone should make another Lemmy support community here in this instance

No, that looks like an admin ban from the instance. You’re banned from lemmy.ml entirely.

When you get instance banned, the modlog will simply show bans from communities you’ve posted in from that instance. If you try to post to a lemmy.ml community now, it won’t federate out. It’s actually a really broken system that can cause problems.

      Wait, really? Dang it.

Is me being instance-banned from Lemmy.ml a sign that I have to study and read up on theory a bit more? Is there any way I can get unbanned from the instance?

Just ignore ml. If you got banned for not knowing their version of whatever, you probably are just going to get banned again later.

For once, I am not knocking on ml for being ml, it’s just a very odd instance when it comes to social interaction. You must subscribe to the hive mind 100% … or else.

Really shows how shitty life under their preferred system would be, doesn’t it? If it’s intolerable online, imagine them actually running shit.

I’m NOT knocking the instance for being Marxist-Leninists - that said, if mods in that instance warms up to non-Marxist-Leninists (like De Leonists, council communists and syndicalists, for example), I wouldn’t get banned there to begin with.

Yeah, I tried to steer clear commenting on whatever people choose to follow politically or socially. It is a highly curated echo-chamber, is my point. (Most social media rabbit holes are echo-chambers, but ml wins awards for that.)

Hex bear and ML are a cult. And I’m pretty sure only 1/3 of them are actually drinking the Kool-Aid, the rest seem to be astro turf bots. As far as I can tell, it’s a mass disinformation campaign.

Keep in mind I myself am not a socialist, even though I do believe they make some good points. I’m a centrist libertarian focusing on Geoism, Minarchism, and strong protections for workers. You know things like cutting corporate welfare and increasing social welfare. Taxes based on land use. Etc.

Getting banned is a mark of Honor. It means you had a brain and used it to question authoritarian bullshit.

Have you ever considered that you’re trying to appease a cult that does not care for you in any capacity? I would strongly advise you to recollect on what you believe in and not to fall to group think. It’s much more important to ask yourself are the things I’m doing having positive impacts on my community versus is my ideology, correct.

I think it’s more of a loss of sense of belonging where they hold political ideology in the same reverence that the religious hold their attachments to their church. As far as he’s concerned, he just got excommunicated by the pope, but he’s still a good little Catholic boy.

Ideologies are foolish systems made to concentrate power and control, not help people.

Reading your post is identical to reading a post about somebody being banned from an ultra right-wing church because they didn’t believe in Jesus the right way. If you can’t see that, I would advise you to reflect.

Live the best life you can treat other people’s the best you can. That’s what matters.
