I’d rather a few sports events become “unfair” than a much larger group of people remain invalidated by the society they live in just for wanting to be comfortable existing.

But that’s not even what happens. Trans women are allowed to compete in women’s categories at Olympia for years now. You can finger count the examples of successful trans athletes.

Sports really isn’t that important compared to other issues. You were the one who brought it up.

But this is also a non-issue because trans women are underperfoming in sports and in many cases they actually have disadvantages, e.g. because of testosterone levels that are often lower than those of cis women.

And even if there was an advantage, that’s just how literally all of sports works. Do you want to ban cis women who are tall or have naturally high testosterone? Should Michael Phelps be banned because he has a biological advantage?

Biologically speaking, this debate remains stupid. Also, all females are biological.

You never see people like this advocating for banning Michael Phelps from competitive swimming. He has ‘unfair’ genetic advantages în lung capacity and lactic acid production.

The day that is seriously considered is the day I might take them slightly more seriously.

A lot of confusion seems to stem from people thinking that allowing transwomen means a lot of men would just sign up into women’s sports. Which of course is a not a very good take if you know anything about transitioning (and in money making levels you wouldn’t be allowed into women’s sports without being on hormones likely for years anyway) and it’s effects on the body. Even without talking about dysphoria, you can’t just go forwards and backwards with transitioning without having some major physical consequences

Absolutely, most people know little to nothing about hormone therapy and it shows.

Fun fact, Ben Shapiro tried to make a documentary about men competing in women’s basketball but they found out that you can’t actually just do that and they were unable to find men who were willing to undergo HRT for it (surprise). Which is incredibly funny because it completely disproves all the stupid shit he and people like him have been saying.

Here’s an article about the film. They tried to make it a comedy instead.

You view this entirely from the perspective of sport? It’s not about sport it is about human rights.

So you chose to confirm you have no idea of biology, especially HRT and transitioning. Or sports.

Are you just uneducated or trying to rage-bait? Given your whole profile, you are the latter. Go get a job.

Says the person who chose to bring transphobic talking points into a post about political news positive for trans people. Fuck off.

Ngl, it’ll only be for the better If state-backed sport competitions would finally start to die out because of that. The big sports industry is a huge waste of money, that only cripples people.
