“As in other cases, the assessment under international law is the responsibility of the federal government, and I expect officials and dignitaries of the German Republic to await the outcome of this assessment and to respect it,” said Spahn in Berlin.

Spahn of all people is telling the president what is right. For Germany, that should be the bigger headline, especially as there is no room for assessing differently. The even bigger headline could be that after more than three weeks Germany still doesn’t know who started the war.
