Fuck that guy and his cheap PR stunt.
That’s about $50 per employee, for a company with $2.3 billion annual revenue and the CEO worth between $500 million and $2 billion.
exactly, everything these people put out is calculated for profit
Remember, we wouldn’t be seeing this much half-assed astroturfing if the No Kings protests weren’t working.
I don’t know why people have such a hard time with the idea of a diversity of tactics.
If you don’t think marches or whatever are effective, that’s fine. Do your own thing. But constantly shitting on what other people are doing really isn’t helpful.
“Sorry guys, can’t make it to a 2 hour event. My day is booked solid with assassinations”
Except it’s more like “Day is booked solid with shitposting online and then complaining that nothing is going to happen”
I respect people who go out and protest, even if it may be ultimately ineffective, a lot more than armchair political pundits who complain about protesting not working while advocating that the solution is for everyone in the nation to suddenly and simultaneously manifest radical class awareness at the expense of their own self-preservation.
I would absolutely accept that as a response.
Can the /politics users go back to /politics
Can the .ml users go back to .ml?
“We know it’s working if people criticize it” is a great metric to use if you want to be fucking useless
Looks like I’m (EU) not up to date with how they’re working.
Can you list maybe some of the concrete things it has achieved from your demands?
Now I write this I realize, IDK what their demands are.
Luigi? Nah, all he did was handing out food at the local soup kitchen with me at the time. No biggie.
Nothing of substance will change until the ultra wealthy fear the loss of their wealth and life. Those are the only two things they care about.
I’ve been lied to. Violence does solve problems if it’s applied in the right place.
“Violence never solves problems” - Said by governments and elites who have used nothing but violence to solve their own problems over all of human history.
That’s why they say it doesn’t solve things
Protests do work… when the people on the receiving end of that message understand that ignoring them is a mortal liability.
Protests stop working when they accomplish nothing and fail to escalate.
they can’t fail if they’re not even trying
Luigi was at my house.
It worked out to $50 per person
$50 is $50. But it’s also a start.
And he’s the CEO of a burger chain, not actively denying healthcare to millions for profit. $50 bonuses for everyone is pretty decent, imo.
5 guys tastes like ass and is massively overpriced
From the reactions here I can see the CEO’s have nothing to worry about.
And they’ve somehow pretzeled themselves into thinking that others are bootlickers and simping for billionaires.
Context?
Luigi Mangione
This sounds like someone wants other people to be violent for their mission. Protests do work people don’t know how to utilize them
Eating the rich works 10 times better
The purpose of non-violent protests is us telling them “We’re being civil trying to get things done, if you ignore us for too long, we won’t stay civil.” It is NOTHING without the possibility of violence being a next step. When people started unionizing they’d drag out those running the business from their homes and harm them. They then started listening to them when they were being non-violent.
Lol there’s more than that you can find organization to join or conversely find people to organize with. Then you can start putting pressure on local governments, then county level, then federal level politicians.
There’s also turning protest into marketing for hopefully leftist movements that make them look good or normal people. Turn it into a concert, meet and greet, rave, or whatever else if yet to think about. It actually helps to build community and protest could help start that or boost it.
If you do think violence is necessary for change it will help to organize with like minded people
Yes, it is needed, or the threat of it is. Especially when said government, local and county, are aligned with that business’ interest. We didn’t get the 40 hour work week, weekends, overtime pay, benefits, etc. from just asking nicely. We demanded it and when they laughed in our great grandparent’s faces, they beat the shit out of them.
I won’t denounce violence, I’ll give you some ideas on matrix. I’ve seen Minneapolis.
For me know I want to give people the peaceful organizing option were we do mutual aid, socials, and making canvassing fun.
More options for the most amount of people
Oh yeah, organization is key and not everyone has to be able or willing to be violent. Just a significant portion that they cannot be easily singled out amongst the group. Though that doesn’t mean someone shouldn’t protect their community and those in it.
thanks Bernie.
Let them do their Sunday walk harder for a few years so they can even vote harder next time
