There is a particular indignity that comes from living in America, derived from the experience of waking up in the morning to see reports that Donald Trump has said something profoundly evil, and then needing to type “truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump” into your web browser to see if he actually said that. Once there, you can see a post in which Trump did indeed threaten to wipe out the entire civilization of Iran, stacked on top of an ad for a sketchy herbal supplement of some sort:

A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

OK and? He’s demented also but not “on deaths doorstep with nothing to lose because he’s so old” demented. He’s got more to live for and hopefully has the sense not to trigger mutuality assured destruction.

I don’t think JD Vance is demented at all.

I think he’s fairly well spoken, intelligent and in bed with every billionaire out there so if the base backs him he could be more dangerous than Trump.

I’m pretty confident that even the suicidally greedy billionaire class recognizes the fact that nuking a foreign country is bad for business. However, I’ve underestimated their insanity before so maybe I’m wrong

Johnson doesn’t immediately become Vice-President. That’s not how the succession works. But you’re right, Captain Couchfucker is just as insane and stupid as Colonel Orangeballs.

The Entire Republican Party. and their donors are problems. And likely need to be culled as well. Trump is just a figurehead, and intentional target. This shit doesn’t end with his death, or JD’s for that matter.

The Speaker of the House doesn’t become VP when a sitting president dies, the sitting VP chooses a new VP.

The Speaker only becomes president if the VP dies before taking the recently-deceased president’s spot
