Relations between the U.S. and the Catholic Church have not been the same since January, when senior U.S. defense officials shared an abrasive message with a Vatican official.

Days after Pope Leo XIV delivered his State of the World speech, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby summoned Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the Vatican’s U.S. representative, to a closed-door Pentagon meeting for a bitter lecture.

“The United States,” Colby said, according to a blistering new report by The Free Press, “has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side.”

“The United States,” Colby said, according to a blistering new report by The Free Press, “has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world.

Except for controlling a narrow strait in the Middle East, or protecting their own military bases in the region, of course.

My mom has always been a die hard Catholic. Yesterday she made a comment that really worried me. I’ve been trying to de-MAGA her since 2016 to no avail. She finally said “you know, this new pope leo is kind of a dumbass. I don’t think I like him so much”. No further elaboration. No further conversation between us. I just didn’t have anything else to say, add, or rebutt.

I really don’t know what else to do. That’s my mom man, and even the Catholic dogma is not enough to convince her to dump trump.

Saint Peter Hegseth, US/ GOP Secretary of War, Death & Blasphemy would dearly love to direct the very expensive US Air Force to carpet bomb those uppity Catholics in Vatican City
