    I mean…

They said snoring was an issue, then the app saw after drinking (I guess they give that sort of info normally?) snoring dropped to zero.

Drinking wasn’t likely the only difference, but I was the only one the app identified.

But considering this person bought a 5k ai bed…

They clearly don’t understand anything about what’s happening.

Anyone buying an AI bed is a fucking idiot, and you need to take that into account when people complain about their AI bed. It’s a safe bet negatives are real, but also that the idiot who bought it won’t actually understand anything that’s going on with it.

They can be jailbroken for full local control. The internals are raspberry pis. There are projects that will replace the ui with open source alternatives and disable the data collection.

Its a good bed once you strip away the stupid software gimmicks.

I bought a Bedjet about 8 months ago, best 8 months of sleep I’ve ever had. No subscription, no cloud bullshit, it’s integrated into my home assistant with a esp32 bluetooth relay. Worth checking out.

Most new beds, “smart” or stupid, are made of foam. The foam collapses in a few years, no matter what they tell you.

Get a traditional spring bed, they’ll last decades. Trust me.

Personally, I prefer foam considerably over springs, and I’m ok with replacing a bed so that it stays moderately hygienic. But there is an environmental cost to that which I don’t love.
