What’s a common “fact” that’s spread around that’s actually not true and pisses you off that too many people believe it?

I think the client was a major bank. Yeah, a lot of dirtbags took advantage of Y2K, but that doesn’t mean Y2K wasn’t a serious problem. It easily could have been.

Obscure in the sense that it was once immensely popular for business applications, but by the late 90s there were very few new applications written in it, but a huge number of large businesses still ran it.
