Can anyone explain to me how “prediction” markets aren’t just straight up gambling? Did some “it’s legal to gamble outside Nevada, Indian Reservations and Atlantic City” bill pass that I didn’t hear about?
It seems to be a long term trend that gambling has spread much further, but I think this supreme court case was a point where it became essentially up to each state now to allow gambling or not.

It’s gambling for industry insiders that want to do some insider trading.
Gambling’s legal in a lot more places now.
They are. Except not really, since there’s so much insider “betting” that the majority of money “won” is by people who knew the result in advance.
