Putting this on “the EU” is extremely unfair. EU did way more than rest of the world. Yes, it’s because it was in a privileged position economically but comparing EU’s response to USA you can clearly see who treated it seriously and who was trying to derail it all the time.
The sad truth is that it’s the people that were actively fighting all the policy meant to mitigate it. People love to bitch about paper straws and caps that are attached to the bottles but then act surprised the government didn’t do anything more substantial.

i don’t see how Europe compensated its responsibility or how it acted accordingly to the danger of continuous emissions.
