Yes, because the bigger plan is to make sure they don’t need to vote again. By “they”, I don’t just mean the public - the GOP Congress knows their days are numbered, because the overarching Federalist and Heritage Foundation plans are to rule by decree and turn the president into a monarch in all but name.

The same thing was found in the bipartisan investigation done for the 2016 election Trump won, and his own admin was part of the investigation. (The Mueller Report went into some of it).
It’s what led to him being impeached and the Senate not giving a fuck because it would hurt the party to find a person they knew was guilty, guilty because he was the “face” of the Republicans at that point.
