For me, if I ask for an unpopular opinion and you say something about pineapple on pizza I’m going to assume you have no personality.
I don’t like pot.
Nothing against it, really. I just don’t like the feeling.
You wanted boring.
Yeah I also don’t like pot. Mainly because it smells bad tho… I’ve never actually used it before since I can’t imagine putting something that smells like that near my nose.
Civ 6 is better than Civ 5.
Modern music is fine.
I think one of the least self-aware thoughts someone can express - and that I hear often - is that “music now isn’t as good as it was in <decade of my youth>”, then they’ll go on to name the top five acts of that decade. Go back in time and listen to the track that was at number 53 in the charts on some boring week in mid-August in that decade and it’ll almost certainly be absolutely tepid mediocrepeice made by a forgotten artist and no better than the song that was playing on the radio that caused the comment in the first place. By the time that Josephine was coaxed onto that Flying Machine pop music had long been established as a commercial product to be produced at industrial scales. No-one alive today grew up in a generation that had exclusive access to “real music”, and if anyone tries to use that phrase to describe Motown in particular you have my permission to stab them in their eyes with a spoon.
You should eat your green vegetables. Eat 'em up.
Especially dark leafy green veggies
Plain black coffee = best coffee
I kinda feel that “plain black coffee” in it’s various forms - Americano, drip brew, whatever - is the only way to actually drink coffee. That’s not to say I don’t approve of milk coffee or lattes or whatever - I love them - but they’re drinks which have coffee in them, even if it’s a dominant flavor. A banana smoothie isn’t a banana.
People tend to think that dark roasts/more bitter coffees are “stronger”. They actually have slightly less caffeine, as the longer the beans are roasted and higher temperatures they are cooked at naturally cooks off some.
For the most part a lighter/darker roast is all about what one likes to taste.
Black licorice is bad. Like, you have one super cheap piece of candy and suddenly decline an entire avenue of amazing flavor? Salmiak is sad.
As a dutch guy I’m going to stand by my Finnish buddies and sy you are wrong, plain wrong…
Pineapple Pizza is just another pizza, get over it. it’s fine.
Pineapple on pizza is indicative of personality, just one that makes bad decisions on the part of the entire group.
I love pineapple on pizza, but I only get it if getting slices for my self or with someone else that likes it.
If ordering blind for a group, it’s 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni. If I’m giving the group options it’s pick between cheese, supreme, meat lovers and pepperoni (if any one can’t eat meat, cheese is forced). If they can’t decide, fuck it we’re getting pineapple /s
Pineapple, ham, bacon, & jalepeño.
Sweet, salty, & spicy all together is delicious.
AoE3 is better than AoE2
This is definitely an unpopular opinion. Have an upvote.
Now thems fighting words.
Wololo… Wololo… Wololo…
Okay, now do you agree?
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Wololo
Roses are blue
Clover lawns are pretty.
Seems kinda unpopular based on just the sheer amount of pristine lawn grass there is. But is also so incredibly low stakes it’s boring
In my experience there seem to be four types of people: those who don’t have a lawn; those who have never heard of clover on lawns; those with clover on their lawns; and those who live under the unrelenting glare and iron thumb of a homeowner’s association.
“Marvel/DC movies BAD.”
They’re products aimed at children with the intention of selling other related products. The fact that some biological adults love them excessively in certain communities/cultures says something about those groups, but doesn’t change the nature of the films themselves. What exactly did you expect?!
Eh I think they are more aimed at adults just by the way they are marketed including the toys which mostly make money in the adult collectors market. They just give the excuse to bring kids.
Agree, and as an adult who enjoys comic book movies. I also like really good cinema. Liking good movies does not mean movies that aren’t winning Oscars are all bad. It means you’re just a gatekeeper.
I can sit down and watch a movie like the Brutalist or the Whale absolutely lose my shit at them.
But sometimes I don’t feel like being emotionally destroyed and just want good guys punching bad guys with predictable plot.
Humans are complex and sometimes you may like one and other times the other, there is no “you can’t like X movie”. Only gatekeepers think that way.
I agree to a great degree. And expectations should be adjusted accordingly. I remember having a great time watching Thor: Ragnarok, not because it was beautiful art that made me reflect and cry and whatnot but because it was fun! And not extremely dumb, lol, and that’s all we can ask from these movies. Rarely do people only enjoy things with a lot of depth and complexity, and even if you’re like that about movies, are you the same about music? Food? You’ve never enjoyed a greasy burger? So yeah there’s no need to hate on them, and no need to expect more from them either (but if it happens it’s always a nice surprise!). ✌️
Hi,
I’m only commenting to show something… Seconds ago I read a comment about Ukraine and pornography with which I completely disagreed. I left the thread, came here, read a comment I completely agree with.
Both are made by the same commenter.
See, we can agree on some things and disagree on others. There’s more than two personalities available.
There might be three even, but that’s it! 😅
Maybe it’s just me, but I also find it weird to see adults with t-shirts or stickers on their cars of what are essentially kid’s shows and comics.
They weren’t originally written for children. The writers were writing their trauma and what they were experiencing at the time for other adults. In fact the readers back then were average of college aged. You may think these comics were written for children because you think their writers were good at writing but actually they were mostly weak writers. Like Stan Lee originally wrote romance. He was a weak writer. Excellent worldbuilder, though.
Comics now are still mainly written for adults.
Source for the writers?
“Originally” was near a century ago. What has that got to do with today?
That homelessness is a choice and the people sleeping on the ground and being nibbled on by rats are somehow gaming the system.
I got hit with this by an elderly person one day. They went on about how there’s so much food out there that they could just forage for, but they choose to beg for it. I was working, so all I could do was smile and nod, but that smile was just frozen in place like a grimace.
During this whole rant my boss and I kept glancing at each other like they were insane. I can’t remember the exact details, I cleansed my brain of that garbage, but there were a few times my boss’ eyes flashed and I thought he was going to flip out.
They left like they were the avatar of mercy and understanding. I may have forgotten what they said exactly, but I’ll never forget how they looked, because that went right down in my mind under “people I’ll never become”. I mean… you have to actively try to become that ignorant, right?
…Right?
Remember that their generation were the same ones who beat black protestors and spit on drafted Vietnam vets. They’re also going to die off soon and the world will be better without them
Unfortunately that generation is doing a pretty good job of screwing up everything so there won’t be much left to enjoy when they die off.
Even if people did choose to do so, it should be a huge red flag to happen then. If people would rather sleep on the street than participate in society, maybe shit is fucked up.
Think that one, the opinion itself, varies in boring/interesting depending on where you live. Likewise varies in truthfulness.
What do you mean by “depending on where you live?”
It (edit: the idea you’re quoting) has more credence or less depending on your town.
- Are there a lot of charities and free services that homeless people can use? Couple that with a notably generous population and you might see actual wilful homelessness.
- On the other hand, I don’t think homelessness is ever a choice or comfortable in very car centric city with gang violence.
I suppose nobody is “gaming the system by being homeless” because even if it’s comfy, you’re not gaining more than you would be by not gaming the system of homelessness. But i think it’s undeniable that, in certain places for various reasons, people choose/pretend to be homeless.
Are there a lot of charities and free services that homeless people can use?
Depends on the type of homeless. Folks who were just evicted and need someplace safe so they can get back on their feet? Sure. People with severe mental health issues or drug addictions? not so much.
Going to a shelter involves giving up certain freedoms that living outside affords you. If you’re dealing with a heroin addiction, they won’t let you bring your drugs in. Got a pet dog companion? No dogs allowed. Going with a friend or partner? Expect to be split up. Also shelters often fill up and the next shelter with space may be an hour walk away.
It also doesn’t help that the shelters are all separate charities and don’t really coordinate.
So as miserable as it is, many people prefer living in tents and won’t even accept a shelter when they’re offered help as their tent encampment is being cleared by authorities.
Responding to any kind of misfortune with “They deserved it.”
eg. People struggling to pay their rent should have budgeted better. People whose uber eats wasn’t delivered shouldn’t have used uber eats. People with medical debt should’ve had health insurance. etc. etc.
Isn’t the just world fallacy a pretty popular opinion?
Popular is not the same thing as interesting. It’s boring in an ancient and odious way, but there is something interesting about how every time people bring it up they think they’re giving a hot take.
I wasn’t talking about people bringing it up as a psychological theory, I was talking about people holding it as an actual belief.
There are tons and tons of people who subscribe to it. It’s a pretty good hint as to why people support billionaires and villainize the poor.
No, I understood you. I was referring to the same thing as well. They just usually can’t help but tell you when they believe it
Not even an opinion, but the response of someone callous and deeply ignorant about how the world and people work. 😔
People killed by political violence
Edit: I’m adding to the e.g’s because political violence is where I most commonly observe “they deserved it” remarks
Pediatric cancer
The most boring, I dunno. My most boring unpopular opinion? Licorice is absolutely delicious.
Also - music now is certainly as good as at any time in the past.
I’m with you on the licorice but the 50 year old man screaming at the clouds in my head draws the line at AI generated music. No Fucking Way.
Oh but Fontaines DC, Leon Bridges, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Waxahatchee and Big Thief and Idles and Wunderhorse and Doechii, Charley Crockett, Jason Isbell, Steve Lacey, there is such an abundance of very good music, we go to concerts and see live bands and really, there is so much great music being made. And I’m older than 50, lol. AI ‘art’ of any sort can rot in hell, yeah.
PiNeApPlE oN PiZzA eWwW!!!1one
I’m so sick of pretend pearl clutching over this non-issue. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it. If you do, that’s fine too.
And for the record, my stance on pineapple on pizza is… drumroll
Tap for spoiler
Who the fuck cares!
My wife likes pineapple on pizza. This is absolutely not a non-issue for me! We get half pineapple and half pepperoni and sometimes I get a pineapple on my side of the pizza!
That’s not a boring unpopular opinion. It’s a boring popular one.
Charred fresh pineapple is completely different than pale bland lumps from a can too. Hawaiian style pizza can be good but blandness is death.
I’m about to do ham and eggs on a pizza.
Tell me more. How’s the egg cooked? Whole?
Crack them right on top of the ham. We used two this time because one is not enough. Got the idea from a Neoplitan pizza place in Florida.

My mouth is suddenly all watery. Looks so good.
Breakfast pizza is amazing. Replace the tomato sauce with sausage gravy, sprinkle on the scrambled eggs, diced ham, and any other toppings of your choice, add the shredded cheese, and bake at 400F for 10-15 minutes (depending on your oven).
The one thing I tried on pizza that was unexpectedly gross to me was broccoli. I actually really enjoy broccoli but on a pizza it made the whole thing taste nasty.
That’s called an Aussie, and it tastes great.
