I was listening to a podcast the other day that was talking about this.

Theoretically, a pumpkin could grow to be about 20,000 pounds before it couldn’t exist under its own gravity.

Edit: This is the podcast if anyone is curious

So let’s grow a +20,000 pound pumpkin in orbit. We’ll splice it will immortal jellyfish genes, and make it our new god that circles us in the heavens.

We must immediately redirect all science efforts to growing the Space Pumpkin Replacement Planet.

And then put elon and Lil Bezzy and the rest inside it after it’s big enough out there.

Child’s play. All we need to do is suspend the pumpkin in a large body of water, and we can easily surpass this 40-ton limit.

does this include spumpkins (space-pumpkins) or does it presume earth standard gravity?

how much of a grant do you think i could get for growing giant space pumpkins?

New record actually dropped like a week ago. I think it was 3,156 pounds, if I recall.
