Of course they are but what will be saving? A bunch of complex human guided plagiarism machines that they use to hack others while claiming it is doing it on its own?

Profits are privatized, losses are socialized.

Looking closely at it, it is a system that brilliantly combines the disadvantages of capitalism and socialism.

I feel like people don’t know that there are massive AI companies and labs outside the US just chugging along.

Let’s see, Anthropic is about a trillion, OpenAI is about a trillion, AMD is about a trillion, SpaceX and Meta are two trillion each, Amazon is 3, Microsoft is 4, Google is 4, Nvidia is almost 6… So something on the magnitude of a $20 trillion bailout?

The USA budget is only a quarter of that. The entire federal budget.

This is going to be fucked, isn’t it?

AMD is cash positive. They have 2 billion long term debt but hold 13 billion cash (as of June 2026). Where are your numbers coming from? AMD’s market cap isn’t even quite a trillion and market cap is just last sale price multiplied by total shares.

They’d have to incinerate Social Security, defund every school, let infrastructure rot, and hyper-inflate the dollar into worthlessness just to keep Wall Street’s AI bubble afloat… Which is beyond fucked.

Welcome back to life as a peasant.

Don’t worry, AI will still be around then to do all the thinking for us! It’ll tell us how this was all for the best, and how we should be thankful to our overlords! We’d surely be making the best of a bad situation and not following a plan for this exact thing to happen!

Welcome back to life as a peasant.

Which is sort of what their glimpses of post-AI jobs in the future they could actually substantiate suggest. It’s all a big heist from the wealth of the people into the pockets of the wealthiest using the smoke and mirrors of a “democratic” government, fueled by the possibility of them no longer having to placate human societies in any way if AI and robotics becomes advanced enough.

its considered acceptable to kill someone if they’re trying to rob you. in america its considered rude to not use a gun.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. it usually feels disproportionate, but austerity and centralization have a very real death toll, so maybe it’s not.

    Capitalize profits

    Socialize losses

When things are going great, give everything to the rich … when things eventually go badly, let the poor pay for everything. Why would the world want to hurt or take away the rich man’s wealth?

ya every time we got a big drop graph it’s usually in relative to the lowest 3 months ago and often the graph looks deceiving, but this time it is actually a big drop.

That was pretty insane yes, but ServiceNow also dropped 30%.

Google dropped about 10% but it was enough to put them back to last years October stock value. No gains this entire year for stock owners at all.

Stocks are feeling dangerous as fuck on report day. I would recommend people to sell before reports in this environment.

Next week we have Apple, Amd and Qualcomm.

ServiceNow has also been pushing chatbots hard. Part of the cost of using their platform was mandatory training about how great all the chatbots are and how you should be using them for every aspect of your work.
