Also we haven’t fostered a culture that has been a driving force behind centuries of globe-spanning persecution and child rape, which feels like it should count for something. We don’t have to greenwash, we’re already green (also my state is 75% of the way there and has ~8 million people so we’re working on it)
Well, if your country is more progressive than the vatican, why isn’t it carbon-neutral already?
The problem is not that it is difficult to phase out carbon, the problem is capitalistic greed that corrupts leadership of our entire civilization.
