Why is this even on the table… oh yeah:

the hastily agreed trade deal with the US

Fucking $deity I can’t believe so many politicians a) play Trump’s obvious game and b) still cling to the “USA our friend & ally” narratvie of decades past.

“with respect to automobiles, the United States and the European Union intend to accept and provide mutual recognition to each other’s standards.” Yet, EU vehicle safety regulations have supported a 36% reduction in European road deaths since 2010. By contrast, road deaths in the US over the same period increased 30%, with pedestrian deaths up 80% and cyclist deaths up 50%.

No shit. For once I hope the word “intend” is as empty as it sounds. I don’t see the US delivering on that anyhow.

Is there a petition we can sign?

the hastily agreed trade deal with the US

      I still have so many questions;

      • is there actually a tradedeal and who can supervise it? won’t be WTO afaik…

      • according to US law this ( maybe all) recent tradedeals are unconstitutional, as they never passed Congress.

      • whatever deal there is, will still need ratification by EP and memberstates.

I disagree with your use of $diety, as it’s not inclusive. It should be an array, not a scalar.

When you accept and reframe the situation from the POV that the EU is an American vassal, everything will click into place.

God forbid we align closer with China and create a Eurasian pole of power /s

The EU should be humble for once and learn how to do manufacturing from the Chinese.

Ignoring China as a world player is naive

Are we living in the same continent? I mean if you’re Chinese I get where you are coming from. But your name suggest a Spanish connection. Are more people apart from your curent PM Sanchez, really falling for all that CPC propaganda?

The name is literally a generated Docker container name, anyways, I’m European.

What propaganda? That China is by all means, the world’s largest manufacturer, and pushing the envelope in terms of Military Industrial innovations, STEM graduates per capita, etc?

I go to China for work regularly, besides people looking to model France’s ability to get people to fall in love with its brands, no one there cares about the EU, because they see it as worthless and stuck.

I live in Europe, I also prefer Euro grass. I just want us to stop thinking we’re the shit, when we’re actually shit and no one cares about the EU because nothing worthwhile comes from this continent atm

Ok… uhm. But the article was about the dangers of EU- US tradedeal, and the dangers for cyclists with importing US vehicles without any protection for cyclists and pedestrians ?

I don’t know who thinks Europe is the shit, like you said . But I also don’t think that we are actually shit.

I do believe Europe is being extremely pressured by the East & West and we’re just barely protecting our way of life atm… Also Europe as a whole is still a very new project, srill ways to go and learn too.

Would you ever jog on. I’d bet cold, hard cash that you haven’t been to both places.

I have and I can tell you that even under the current administration, we are ideologically far closer to one than the other when you talk with actual humans.

We can be as ideologically similar, policy-wise, we’re an obedient dog with a masochism kink.

“Yes daddy Trump, we’ll take all your child killer gas guzzlers and destroy our urban planning for more car friendly cities. What’s that? Yes sure we’ll also take a 15% tariff, and we’ll do it with a smile”
