We want to make NATO stronger," U.S. Ambassador Matthew Whitaker said in Berlin on Monday. The diplomat also compared the allies to children. “We want you to grow up and become who you can be,” he added, addressing European countries.

      Reservists, no less.

“Exercise commanders had to ask Finnish reservists, the most formidable Arctic warriors, who were playing the role of invaders in the war games, to go easy on the Americans,” the source said. “The Finns had to be told to stop beating the Americans as it was embarrassing and demoralising for them.”

Some snowflakes still melt in the North Atlantic and Arctic.

        Reservists, no less.

The finnish arctic reservists aren’t exactly like most reservists though. Finnish reservists are more like “Veterans who can’t manage to retire”, and anyone who voluntarily lives in the arctic is already certifiably insane.

But that’s still funny as hell

Yeah, I think between the performances of England, Finland, and Norway, security in the North Atlantic is best if the US stays away from Greenland.

Edit: I’m also reminded of a story my New Zealand fri nd told me when he had just joined the Australian Airforce as a foot soldier for base defence.

In preparations for Afghanistan, the US would train in Australia with them. He took out an entire group of marines because “You could hear them a mile away”. So there he is only a few months in the forces, walking up to a group of marines to tell them they’re all dead, they called in an airstrike a few hundred metres out.
