No. It wasn’t unrealistic constraints, you were too damn afraid to actually do anything to improve how the game felt and listen to the feedback your community was giving you; that’s why your game died a slow death. The same thing will happen with Marathon because you’ve already burned the goodwill of your community. Trust is a resource, it takes years to build but only days to spend, and you spent your budget on dumb shit after Forsaken.
Did you actually read the article or are you just kneejerk griping based on the title?
It’s a quote from an individual developer - an audio designer - talking about their experiences during Bungie’s layoffs, hence the reference to ‘unrealistic constraints’, but for some reason you seem to be taking it as an opportunity to air your grievances with the overall creative direction?
Maybe you didn’t mean it that way, but I can’t stand it when ‘fans’ lash out at developers as if they’ve been personally wronged. Remember the human.
I’d even say that much as most people commenting here would ignore/hate every Ubisoft open world game made, quite often a lot of the people working on them are talented, thoughtful people, just doing their best to respond to the whim of managers that understand this audience only buys 2 games a year and needs 100 hours of content.
Once in a while, even in those open world slopfests, you do see flashes of brilliance from those designers.
Read the article. It was an audio designer who used the words “unrealistic constraints”. Do you think this audio designer has any say on gameplay design decisions and could have influenced where resources are allocated inside the company?

Marathon? Slow death? 🤣. It’s already circling the drain. It won’t see out the year - and neither will Bungie.
