            Ah. I never saw this one, but the way people were talking about in this thread it reminded me that Happiness exists, a film I couldn’t fucking finish and makes me nauseous to think of to this day…

        Yep - ended up that he actually pulled through and went to live with his biological mom and touched the lives of many. It’s called “The Good Son,” and it’s a heartwarming foil to the very sad ending of My Girl.

          it is about a family that is on the brink of falling apart, until a mysterious stranger enters their lives, befriends them, and reunites them in the end.

          I thought that was end of the Home Alone trilogy, where Kevin didn’t get any help for his abandonment issues but with Harry and Marc locked up for good sought other targets for his sadism.
