So, basically, he shot himself in the foot lying about trying to shoot his shot to the worlds most well known pedo, and NOW he’s trying to get some goodboy points by picking a political side in international affairs, thereby making himself (and his assets) viable war targets…

So, maybe (hopefully), the next shots will be Russia shooting down Musk’s satellites. Thereby, tanking yet another of Musk’s companies and maybe investors will finally stop sucking him off as yet another business of his goes tits up because of his wreckless political interference.

As of January 2026, the constellation consists of over 9,422 satellites

Russia shooting down one Starlink satellite wouldn’t have a noticeable effect on the service. In fact, I doubt they have the capability to shoot down enough satellites to noticeably affect the performance of Starlink.

I was at a gay campground last summer and the guy I was with pointed out two Starlink receivers, we were both amazed that community-oriented queer men would just fork over money so they could watch TV. At a campground. They weren’t even boomers, they were Gen Xers. People are just so addicted to modern convenience they don’t care about who’s supplying it.

They have to spend that much to install their own mains because none of the local telecom companies have extended theirs to service those customers despite having gotten grants from the government for the explicit purpose of doing so. 🤦‍♂️

The coverage at sea is pretty helpful. Ideally it should be under UN control, if just to stop every country or block wanting to set up their own version and causing massive amounts of orbital clutter.

I actually built a LoRa network with a mate, if we stretch our antenas we can cover almost 300km with little to no energy but the latency is absolutely trash, though communication wise it works alright.

We should have less and less trust handling our data like we currently do.

I’m in the process of starting with some LoRa stuff myself, and just waiting on hardware to arrive. Can you provide any details on what you’re using hardware-wise? I’m assuming that 300km is pretty much obstacle-free?

Both of us use different antennas (literally scrap), we use meshstatic with raspberries.

This will be of much help if you’re looking to get started: https://meshtastic.org/docs/hardware/

Also 300km is indeed almost obstacle free, there’s lots of villages and forests in between but one of the antenna is located on 12th floor of a building in a city. Coverage is not really the issue, even inside the city with all interference, we did manage to establish a proper connection within 3km, one antenna on 4th floor and the other one on the first floor with lots of tall buildings in between. (Worked much better than expected)

Mad fun project to get started with, highly recommended. Is it of much use? Not yet, not really. But we are planning on pumping up the power a little bit, add a few more nodes and hopefully we will be able to deploy a Lemmy or something and step by step we will create our own shitty “undernet”.

Nice. At the moment I’m looking at using ESP based LilyGo devices since they’re fairly cheap and power efficient. The plan is to set them up in places where they can run off solar power during the day and if I get enough people onboard we can relay off each other.

The tech itself seems cheap and effective enough that it might be good for situations like i.e. the protests in MS where having a phone or other device with too much personal info - or subject to tracking -might be less desirable. It could also be good in situations like we’ve seen in other countries wherein the government cuts off Internet access

Epstein was pretty obviously mossad but both russia and israel seem to both use the blackmail materials. Interesting how that woks from such a “staunch US ally” as israel is portrayed to be. How are they sharing this stuff?

Side note, I suggest a change to english writing standards whereby loathsome words like “putin” or “israel” become exceptions to capitalization rules and are always lower case. “US” is an exception only because it breaks the writing flow and reads as ‘us’.

There is a percentage of any population that just repeats shit they heard their role models say, like it’s the gospel. Image repair is going to involve starting “cool projects,” getting good interviews with popular influencers, and coaching a swarm of people to ignorantly support him for the “sake of humanity” or some shit. This is a weird faucet of human society, but look at how well it works…

It’s like you want to see what’s at the bottom of a well, but someone turns on a spigot of water to cause ripples. You can’t tell whether what’s down there is more round or square, now. Later they add food coloring, and you can’t really recall by this point if the object was originally red or orange… Soon they toss in some disco balls, and now you’ve gotten distracted by the shiny sparkles everywhere. Eventually, the well fills and the disco balls float to the top. Everyone around you is remarking at how beautiful the well looks, and you’re the only one left wondering what the fuck just happened.

His interference with the Thai cave rescue was a turning point but I think what changed was how the rest of us viewed him.

Before that, his dumb or stolen “inventions” were always just scams presented to his grinning employees, idiot techbros, reporters, and investors who always clapped and humored him. Everything the public knew about him was filtered through that glossy facade. In general most people seemed to think he was legit.

The “submarine” was the first time he presented an idea to people who weren’t ass licking corporate ladder climbers; people who had no time or patience for his bullshit and rejected it offhand. His butt was hurt so he started the public name calling which really made the news cycle. And we all know how the internet responds to that sort of thing.

Ever since then all of his scams, products and flashy presentations are always publicly dissected and ripped apart on the internet. His drug use and erratic Nazi emo phase seems to be a response that.
