Sounds like a mostly reasonable person.

Yes, the Democrats will win a majority somewhere in November. They’re currently up 14% over Republicans nationally and that is rig-proof, blue wave territory. I don’t see them making any major changes though, and they’re probably salivating at the thought of the money they can make for themselves now that it’s okay to insider trade AND insider-gamble on crypto and prediction markets.

A few will give some memorable, impassioned speeches before pulling the lever to insider trade, though.

Their strategy of lying down (and/or collaborating) and letting Donald jump off a cliff has worked, and sadly, to the detriment of all. I wish these bastards had actually opposed something.

That kinda took a weird turn, but okay.

You don’t think Ds insider trade, that they aren’t corrupt?

You’re cute. Just look at Maxine Waters and her family and open your eyes, they’re all millionaires now. I could fill pages with examples of major party corruption. Idiots, indeed!

Also, the Ds require independent votes to win any election. You’re in the minority, Ds are 30%, Rs are 30%, and Independents are now over 40%.

You’re not doing yourself or your party any favors when you insult those you need. Especially if you think we’re stupid and petty.

          Figure it out, professor

I think the point is that America really needs a strong overhaul to prevent something like Trump happening again, but there are not enough Democrats that are motivated by changing the status quo rather than increasing their personal wealth/power.

Her position on Israel even after months of Genocide (voting twice to keep on giving “defensive” help to Israel, though later she changed that position) leaves me with a feeling that she doesn’t have strength of principle: when a country has already murdered so many babies that the list of babies 1 year old or younger murdered by Israel in Gaza in just the first 3 months of the Genocide is 17 pages long, nobody with even the most basic moral and principles who has the strength to stand by them, will vote for any support for that country in any way, form or shape - wrapped with a “for defense” wrapping paper or otherwise - quite the opposite.

Even if she is honestly a good person (which I do hope she is), somebody with such willingness and capability to ignore maybe one of the strongest moral compulsions there is (that one has against the murder or children and those who would do it) that they vote twice to support a baby-mass-murdering nation whilst they are activelly mass murdering babies, even if she trully believe it was only for their “defense” (which would also make her an idiot, since if “defense” is taken care of by the US, it frees Israeli military resources for more mass murdering and makes then unafraid of reprisals so they’re even more extreme in their mass murdering, which was EXACTLY what happenned) doesn’t have the strength of moral and principles of, for example, a Teddy Roosevelt.

The Dems won’t undo anything Trump has done. The seal has been broken. Power only wants more power. The US system is cooked.

Shows just how rigged the system is against the average person. We can see from Mamdani that you need an exciting candidate first and foremost, then the voter support comes after naturally. People need to feel excited to vote in a system where they feel their voices aren’t being heard.

              Yeah I’m sorry that’s bullshit.

More boring candidates, please. Mamdani is an outlier in a super blue city.

This isn’t a fucking Super Bowl halftime show, this is boring shit and it should be boring.

“The candidate wasn’t exciting enough” has never, and will never, be a legitimate excuse for not voting for someone.

Low information and low political engagement people do need someone who excites them to get off the couch and vote.

The type of people who live for personal drama and excitement.

Nobody is talking about legitimate excuses, we’re talking about reality, and the reality is that Kamala starts losing momentum the moment she stops being exciting to the average voter when she pivots to cater more to the right wing voters and her donors.

Mamdani won from being 1% of the polls due to being exciting, which inspired his voter base to go door to door and spread his message. You’re also still spreading the lie that a progressive win is only possible in a super blue cities when Platner has already proved that an exciting progressive candidate can make headway even in a purple states? I think your views are outdated at this point.

Also, I don’t know why you keep attacking progressive politics despite the fact that your country is already tearing itself apart due to the decades of status quo politics rotting it from the inside out. Be ready to change if you want to stop the death spiral your country is currently in or get out of the way of people who wants to make a change.

The same can be said about people like you who’d rather feel smug about the issue instead of bringing in actual change by looking at reality.

Yeah. There’s a new sentence at the bottom now that kinda ties it up better. I too would prefer a badass karate-kicking Democratic party. Since Iraq War I they’ve been a mix of a little firey and at lot lame.

(It is primary season, just, as an aside.) But fuck me even Reagan republicans wouldn’t have thrown everything in the toilet in eight months. (Unless they did cause yes they’re all old).

Politics is boring and when it’s not people get all upset. Governance shouldn’t have to be so pro-wrestling.

        Yes, there will be.

Your social media algorithm may be sensationalizing things to keep you engaged, but after Minnesota, any hope of a coup is gone, because Minnesota taught the authoritarians that they didn’t have a mandate to go full Gestapo. It also taught them that trying would not only piss off Democrats, but also fracture their own power base and create resistance among Republicans, which is why they’re speedrunning their grift on order to maximize the financial returns before the window closes and they have to pretend they care about ethics again.

Hell, CBP killed two people in Minneapolis and all it did was motivate more people to get out into the streets, people wearing both colors of jerseys, not unlike how Nazis trying to batter Warsaw into submission created the most metal resistance movement of WWII.

November is going to be a bloodbath. The only downer is that Democrats don’t actually oppose anything, so the extent to which it will matter is debatable. That fact, more than anything, should be comforting to you if you’re honestly afraid of canceled elections.
