There was a time where PC had almost zero console game. Those times where so hard with shitty games like doom, quake, command and conquers, Warcraft, Diablo, half-life… I will defenetly buy your expensive jail box so I can play AAA games where the game play for me or let me do the same thing again and again on various points on a 100 billions km2 map…

I didn’t buy any of their single player games they released on pc cause they’re all cinematic hands-holding garbage, so nothing changes for me.

Their ports were all complete dogshit too. Absolutely atrocious work.

Also I hope everyone at nixxes has their resume up to date because they’ll be unemployed soon.

It actually is very disappointing. They make most of my favorite games. And the only reason they’ve done this is to bring people back to their shitty ecosystem.

I’m interested is seeing how this goes. When people experience an open ecosystem they rarely go back. They may recoup some of that userbase but it won’t be back where it was from my perspective.

Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft tried that too. They are all back on Steam. I don’t see a bright future for Sony.

This is not a novel model. We already know it works. I know several people who purchased ps5 just for exclusive titles.

On the one hand i’m disappointed. On the other hand, at least i know what to expect now when i want to play a playstation game, cause i kinda hated that when a new game released, it would be in limbo for a while where you’re not sure if you should buy it now, or wait for the pc version, especially since not every game got a pc release anyway. I waited way too long to buy astro bot for that reason, but i finally pulled the trigger on it a few weeks ago.

This is basically the “Nintendo strategy”.

Nintendo games are only ever released on Nintendo systems. These games almost never go on sale, if they do it’s 5 years later and only $10 off.

It sorta sucks, but it clearly works.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sony can pull this off as well.

Ok, we have plenty of great games already so I won’t really miss theirs.

Then there is only one option, and that is to not play future Sony single player games.
Except of course if they make Steam Deck versions. 😀

It’s a joke. Steam deck primary function is as a console, but it is a full fledged PC underneath.
If Sony makes games for the Steam Deck it means for Steam OS or Linux, meaning they would not be playable in Windows, which is probably unrealistic, but the idea is quite humorous IMO.

I just don’t think you got the joke.

It was a terrible joke. 99.9% of the games that run on a steam deck are not Linux games, they’re not SteamOS games - they’re Windows games. I don’t think there’s a single “SteamOS” game in existence.

99.9% of the games that run on a steam deck are not Linux games

Apart from being false, the fact that the majority of games on Steam OS are not native Linux games, and most tof those that are, are ported from Windows is exactly part of why it’s funny IMO.
Fell free to hate it, but very clearly it was a big wush for you.

But there are a lot of native Linux/Steam OS games today.

There are no native SteamOS games. There are native Linux games, but those Linux games are not SteamOS-specific. They run on all Linux OS’s.

              Your “joke” made no sense.
