Imagine you had 72 hours before everything collapses. How would you spend that time? Would you stockpile supplies? Would you focus on warning as many people as possible? Would you try to preserve knowledge, like books, hard drives, download internet archives, etc.? Would you collect music or history?

I would probably try out heroin. Been saving it for the end because if I need painkillers for health reasons, they would be more effective.

But that is assuming an apocalypse means collapse of “civilization”. Imagine if you were a 1%er, and you had all the power and wealth in the world. wouldn’t losing all that unearned power be an apocalypse for you, even though it would make everyone’s lives better?

One person’s apocalypse could very well be everyone’s salvation.

I mean, it depends heavily on the type of apocalypse.

Meteor strike? I’ll just enjoy the next three days. It’ll likely wipe out any chance anyone has of survival.

Zombies? Yeah, I’d probably try and survive and group up with some of my better equipped friends.

Global nuclear war? I’ll just off myself. I don’t want to even exist in that scenario.

I’m disabled and lack community. I would do art until I succumb to the fate the eugenicists who designed my environment and society have arranged for me.

sorry I’m already fully booked on Thursday. Friday is really a no and I have a bbq during the weekend. Can we move to early next week? Happy to touch base to find common ground and unleash synergies.

Rent an isolated cabin far out in the woods, buy anything I can think of that would help me last indefinitely out there, get enough supplies for the short term, then pack it all in the truck and gtfo with my cat in the passenger seat.

Without knowing what kind of apocalypse that may be a waste plenty of them where humans are extinct or even the whole planet destroyed.

I mean, people seem to think the apocalypse would be survivable, but that’s not how I understand it.

But for an impending survivable disaster, I’d get supplies and weapons and head to somewhere remote.

To me, to even qualify as an apocalypse, it has to take out 99.9%+ of the population, and make extendedly staying alive stupidly difficult (and maybe even impossible) for anyone who “lucked into” surviving whatever it was that killed almost everyone else.

So it’s one of those things that is going to be hard to prep for with months and months of notice, let alone three measly days.

If it’s one where people would still be alive but without infra, network like crazy.

I’d just go out to a pub every day and night, and just drink. What else are you gonna do
