Like are there people in the world who don’t know who Ariana Grande or The Weekend are?
It’s pretty much the entire concept behind a Funny or Die show with Tig Notaro

I have no idea who “The Weekend” is.
Damn are y’all actually falling for such obvious bait
Yes. We just have different priorities.
The Weekend are?
Like Saturday and Sunday?
Who?
What?
Like totally
Famous where? I bet you don’t know famous people that are only famous in their country.
Edit: tell me who Lola Flores, Camarón de la Isla or Robe Iniesta are.
Enrique Inglesiás?
The son of Julio. What?
Yes. And there’s also famous people you have never heard of.
Next
Who the fuck is The Weekend?
I have no idea, but I do know it’s spelled The Weeknd, for some reason. That’s pretty much all I know, though.
for some reason
Search engines. Same reason behind “Linkin Park”.
Or he could have just picked a more distinctive name.
Same reason it’s called “Blu-Ray” and not “Blue-Ray”. It’s much harder to trademark a normal word.
But it also has the effect that I tend to read it as ‘the weakened’.
Of course
Like what else is there to say lol
I couldn’t pull those 2 out of a line up.
If my life depended on it, I would say The weekend dates a Kardashian and Grande is from nickelodeon.
I have heard of The Weekend. I have no idea who they are, what they’re famous for, what they look like, if they’re a person or a group, or anything about them. I also legitimately have no idea if you’re meant to pronounce the ‘e’ in Grande, people have told me, I just don’t care enough to remember.
Ariana Grande or The Weekend
Uhhh… the first one’s a pop singer I’ve still never heard a single song by, and the 2nd one’s how we spend our SAT & SUN’s?
Heh, am I close?
Just use your first answer for both of them, and you’ve nailed it!
Lol… that’s too much. Pretty soon we’ll be able to construct ordinary sentences out of nothing but pop stars & rappers names, I guess.
Sounds fun! Whoever builds the longest sentence out of stage names wins!
I’ve found seven such words / phrases so far, which might be knit together in to: Future Common Logic-- Why Prince’s Fun Weekend?
Oh well, it’s a start.
Tig Notaro used to have a show where celebrities would come on, she would interview them, and at the end she had to guess who they were. So, yes, even famous people who live in LA don’t necessarily know who other famous people are.
