What annoys me is Im far enough from city center to survive in agony and im just helisure that the one targeted for the airport will come much later than the city center one. I dunno maybe I will be lucky and the airport would get hit first. That should be pretty instantaneous.

Kinda depends on the scenario. Typically cities aren’t the highest value military targets so it would depend on exactly how things play out. Usually military bases and missile facilities are the primary targets in most scenarios.
Of course we’ll all have the fun after effects if enough go off.
It’ll give you enough time to get closer to a military target and thus an instant, almost painless death, letting you be one of the lucky ones
the planes aren’t going to be much good if there’s nukes blasting EMP and shockwaves near metropolitan areas
I think the point is the system is so corrupt the 1% will get enough warning lead time to get out and get to their bunker, or at least be well clear of the EMP zones. I.e hours not seconds.
