“If Trump was putting his name behind it, it must be a legitimate investment,” one woman told the news organization.

“This is a woman who spoke to Reuters,” Bash said. “She put $2,000 of her savings into the $TRUMP meme at the end of May. Her $TRUMP holding was worth less than $120, she now thinks it was just a pump-and-dump scheme. The second investor, Matt, a 45-year-old machinist in Indiana, put $40,000 into $TRUMP family tokens … Matt’s shares have dropped 79% in value since he bought them for a loss of about $32,700. He does not blame the Trump family.”

Anyone stupid enough to buy this memecoin thinking that anyone but trump would make money on it is suffering from the real trump derangement syndrome.

They bought the hats, which turned out to be cheap trash

They bought the gold shoes, which turned out to be junk

The bought the knife which was gas station knife quality

They bought the phone which turned out to be cheap and outdated

They bought the coin which turned out to be a scam

But those gold and silver coins will be…those will be worth the investment

I love that he pump and dumped his own supporters. He screwed them on the trump phones too. I think they should keep giving trump their money so they can become penniless and experience Trumps attack on social services and food aid. Chefs kiss.

You could probably talk the same people who lost 98% of their “investment” to buy the dip

Whoever bought those coins IMO deserves everything they get. Mind you in this case it’s less.

How do you deprogram millions of people? Seriously, it’s hard for cult members to re-integrate back into society without support.

I worry about what happens when their 80-year-old leader dies (to be clear, that’s an inevitability, not a specific wish) and they leave the Republican party but have nowhere to turn for community.

Why not? I’m actively rooting for it.

It’s been a cult for long before Trump came along, it was a cult looking for a leader. I googled “how to break people free from a cult” back in 2011. What i got out of it was you have to let people figure it out themselves. Confronting them makes them dig in deeper. Best thing to do is not make them fear an “I told you so” moment. We all have our pride

They’re not going to leave the Republican party. They don’t have specific beliefs or values diving their political expression. They embraced what it meant to be a Republican before Trump just as they embrace it now, even though those are two disparate worldviews. They will do the same after he is gone with whatever the GOP says is their unchanging views at that time.

I think they’re just stupid and rely on being told what to do rather than figuring out what to do. Trump wouldn’t be the only thing in their lives taking full advantage of that.
