Maybe they can be turned into " I NCE LS 2026" with some scraping but my hunch is that that’s not the current name of the conference
My 'family’s ages are the regular rates. Friends and family should be the first supporting your endeavors. I have never asked friends or family for discounts, but I do look for offers kn anything else.
That person would be on my shitlist faster than Bitwarden’s decline on the change of CEO.
If it’s hundreds of bracelets then a 3d printer is not the right technique for this. With pad printing those would have costed 1/10th less in materials (the cheapest rubber bands from Alibaba) and be done in 1/100th of the time (5 seconds for each one instead of 1 or 2 hours each)
It says “printed”, could be any printing technique. Is there something in the picture that points to 3D printer?
-
It’s raised and on some black letters you can see there are lines on the surface with a different light reflection like the nozzle does on TPU.
-
it’s printed on colors that are typically available on TPU (it’s not like pla that comes in every conceivable color)
-
It has a weird drop shape when closed, like if it was designed to be printed flat
-
He says “weeks to make them” when showing a dozen. With a week of production in pad printing you can do millions of units.
-
With pad printing he could have used the traditional round rubber bands
-
Of you did they work they requested, it’s the cost of renaming the bands kind of their problem and not yours? This you should still get paid for the work you did.
I assume there is no written contract and if, would you be willing to sour the relationship?
Definitely leaves a bad taste.Just because there was nothing in writing does not mean there was no contract, it just makes it harder to sue.
Don’t do business with crypto tech bro’s. They are scammers and you will be scammed.
Why would the “North American Marlon Brando Look-Alikes” want these wristbands?
If it has crypto anywhere on it, or so much smells slightly of crypto, you make sure you’re paid in real money up front.
Best I can do is a handful of dogecoin.
“No but look bro! I’ll give you a bit of Dogecoin, and if you wait bro, they’re going to be worth millions in no time bro! Trust me bro, I’m giving you much more than just money bro, it’s the future bro!”
Seriously just reach in this jar and grab a big old handful of doge as many as you can carry they’re yours.
Don’t spend your own money on a friend or family member’s pet project unless you’re willing to consider that money a gift if you need to.
The ‘cousin’ part is the part that’s tripping him up here. Any other business venture telling you “I can only afford to pay you if you redo it” could be met with a retort of, “That isn’t the terms of our contract. If payment is not rendered according to our contract, I’ll be seeing you in court.”
Keep Your Cash In Cash and Your Money In Money
Probably unrelated to this, but ‘nonce’ is a concept in cryptography (not the cryptocurrency-kind), a number used only once in a cryptographic operation.
Apart from the colloquial British use, that is.
Am from the UK and my mom would call anyone she didnt like on TV a nonce (turns out she had a high accuratarcy rate) so i grew up thinking it just meant stupid, which resulted in me calling myself a nonce when making a mistake at work to peoples shock and amusment.
Same here. Learned at about the age of 35 the real meaning!
Thank you for explaining, I only know nonce being used to refer to someone as a pedo so Noncefest certainly raised an eyebrow. I can only assume this guy was unaware of the meaning.
The slang term for pedophile is only used in the UK, hence the Americans keep doing this.
We need to bring it to our own lexicon. It packs a punch. 😂
cryptography (not the cryptocurrency-kind)
This may be pedantic, but that is the cryptocurrency kind. The “crypto” in “cryptocurrency” literally comes from the term “cryptography”. It is currency that is secured by cryptographic functions.
Cryptocurrency is cryptography, but cryptography isn’t cryptocurrency.
There’s a good reason to note that a term that most uninformed people might assume is unrelated to a shitty thing people hate. Kind of like how a lot of shit we used to call AI has to be clarified as non-llm because the llms have become the initial connotation to AI.
I’m well aware.
Most cryptocurrency pushers are less interested in the underlying cryptographic fundamentals, however.
Cryptography is undeniably cool. Cryptocurrency is undeniably not cool.
Cryptocurrency uses cryptographics, the WEB uses cryptographics! Everone uses cryptographics.
It’s a banana is a fruit moment.
nonce did used to be an English word too meaning “of/at the moment” or “for one purpose” so Number used Once is actually a backronym
It derived from Middle English was “tō þen naness” which is roughly “best item for a purpose” literally, but is used to mean “something” or “disposable/temporary” in context.
As someone from the UK who works in software engineering, the combination of meanings is always hilarious
I spent a while figuring that one out for sure (am swedish)!
It’s like being psychology adjacent and having to double check which CBT do people mean
thank you i had to look up the british slang now, as I could only think of the cryptographic association
Very related to this
See, I never knew that. I wondered what kind of weird convention this is. 😂
This is why the family rate is an added 25%
50% if they offer to help.

Nah, you give them the fuck off estimate.
This is at least the second time American crypto bros have used that word to name something and regretted it lmao.
The last one was a company called nonce finance https://www.ft.com/content/43b00d73-8a76-494a-8b5f-87dcab406ea5
Is it about the financial side of child sexual abuse?
Haha I hope nobody tells them what it means until it’s too late 😂
Paywalled, doesn’t even allow to view a word but the title.
I forgot I have bypass paywalls clean installed, someone else already posted an archive link, but I recommend the extension to anyone not already using it https://gitflic.ru/user/magnolia1234
I hate using archive.today, but it’s the only archive site I could get to archive it properly.
and could only afford to pay me if
Me, a business genius: “I’m getting in on the ground floor!”
Also me, “There’s not a lot of money on this floor. Seems they’ve been keeping that shit up at the top.”
Politely but firmly tell them to pay up before you choke them to death.
I’m talking Nonce Sense
Nonce means something different to us folks in tech.
Still should’ve gotten paid up front by a crypto-bro
Fitting for reddit.
